Are the orchid with flowers different? Do they deserve special treatment?

Although the care of the orchid remains the same, the plants with flowers needs special attention to maximise its flower life. The following tips could be useful

a) High humidity is useful to prevent flower ageing. It is good to place the orchids with flowers together as this creates a 'micro environment' from the collective transpiration

b) The plants should not be wet at all the times. It should not be bone dry either. Even and mild moisture is recommended for the media

c) Bright light and air circulation are important

d) Excess heat will reduce the life of the flowers

e) Heat can destroy the flowers earlier than its usual life span
